Hi @juggernautsei
Nice job on the new videos, I’m working my way through them.
But I have a question: the account signup video instructs to select 'EHR EZ integration - can send EPCS signup charges $950 ’
What’s with that $950 signup charges? I thought this was a free version?
Is there no way I can set up a no- cost purely test account just to familiarize myself with the system?
Best- Harley
@htuck this question is above my paygrade. I will have to point you to tina@wenoexchange.com. You can hear her voice in the first two videos. Send her an email. I copied her on this message.
Best!
Thanks Sherwin- will post her reply.
Bon weekend- Harley
$950 startup cost could make this a nonstarter for most OpenEMR practices. I think Allscripts w EPCS is at appx $35/mo. It would take 3 years to break even assuming everything goes smooth.
I knew there might be a monthly for narcotics but, not a 950.00 setup.
Many will have a very hard time justifying the setup especially those that only occasionally prescribe short term narcotics.
Here is the official answer from Weno executive Tina Goodman.
OpenEMR WENO Fees Explained 03012021.pdf (201.7 KB)
Is the Allscripts integration working?
There is no true integration for Allscripts, rather it is export or pasting of patient data from emr and import of Rx data from eRx. Allscripts partner program does offer API access for true integration but the charge for getting that access cannot be justified by this market.
True as i’ve looked into also.
This was brought to my attention today, iPrescribe. Although, not an EMR integration but says free and does offer EPCS.
Any ideas why iPrescribe is offering free lunch
?
Haven’t figured that out yet! Have an ARNP researching for me now. There’s a catch somewhere i’m sure…
It is interesting that the FAQ says it will populate all known patients for you. BIG DATA!
More like BOLD assertion!
Hmmm, iPrescribe looks like it’s only a mobile solution, no?
Also, I’m not sure how comfortable I am with data that I am responsible for somewhere on a cloud!
Concerning iPrescribe, my cousin signed up with and is using them now. She is also prescribing narcotics.
It took about a week for the references to be checked out and was all done online for signup.
She told me she is very happy with the service thus far. So for those that don’t prescribe a lot of narcotics and don’t mind a little double entry in openemr medications then ya might want to take a look.
Just an update for anyone who may be reading this… as of late April, the EZ integration cost was lowered to $300 one time, with a yearly prescriber fee of $99/yr with ads or $180 without ads.
I started with the free registration and used the online prescribing (Weno’s website) which just meant entering my patients there, and having to document the Rx back in OpenEMR. With the lowered price, I went for the integration - after recouping the one-time cost, it will be lower each year than other services.
