Couple notes from the 7/9/16 conference call:
Attendees:
Brady, Julie(EMRDirect), and Luis(EMRDirect)
As background, EMRDirect contributed code in the past for OpenEMR to support the Direct service:
http://www.open-emr.org/wiki/index.php/Direct
Discussed following 2 cool topics:
EMRDirect’s api could also support directory lookup of the direct email addresses within OpenEMR. If a developer is interested in pursuing this project, just let me know. Placed an item on the Active Projects page:

EMRDirect is also planning to support patient app API’s which are going to be required for MU3. The nice thing about this is that it will not require the OpenEMR instance to be public (the patient’s app will connect to EMRDirect’s secure server, which in turn will then connect to the OpenEMR isntance via a SSL tunnel to collect the requested information). EMRDirect is also considering contributing the OpenEMR specific code to fulfill the MU3 API requirements, which would be very cool. Also placed an item for this on the Active Projects page:
