I have a question. If the last_level_closed in the encounter file is <=3 would it be safe to reset the stmt_count to zero in the encounter file.
Thanks
Terry

I have setup the statements to allow custom dunning messages. In the screen shot attached I need to come up with a clearer description for the one labeled " No account message" this is for accounts that are not patient responsible yet and have not had any insurance payments posted. The checks in the software are has an insurance payment been posted or is it patient responsible.
I appreciate any and all feed back.

Can it be used for cash payments which are non insurance based practice? I mean patient paying for self…

Hi Terry,
The Billing Manager has Coordination of Benefits built in. The Patient Statement is not generated until EOB’s are processed, therefore the consideration of a dunning message for accounts with charges out to insurance is moot.
When an insurer does not pay for legitimate reasons (co-insurance, deductible), patients still question why they were billed & then proceed to instruct us how to properly send the claim to the insurer.
To minimize needless patient phone calls & the waste of staff time, I would suggest the first dunning message be the same as that for 60 days. In general insurers will remit in 15 days on e-claims.
Hi Arnab,
Self-pay patients, it harkens back to the good old, simple days (sigh).
The dunning messages are customizable, so you can use them in your practice.

So I can drop the ‘No account message’. Is 5 messages enough, to much, or just right.
You can set these up to have a message based on what ever time interval you decide. Yes they will work for cash customers as long as the account flagged as patient responsible.
Thanks

Yes to first question.
Five is more than enough. In fact, if a patient does not respond by 90 days with either a payment or phone call, (s)he will need turn over to collection.
Usually these recalcitrant folks will cough up the money when they urgently need another visit; at which time a cash payment for arrears & total pre-payment for the pending visit are collected at the front desk.
Great feature enabling user to set start time for dunning.
Thank you for another wonderful contribution.

Getting back to the business at hand…
Terry’s contribution is masterful & user friendly.
Both the number of days & wording of the dunning messages are at the discretion of the user.
Once configured in Globals, messages will be printed automatically on the Patient Statements according to pre-set schedule. The clock starts ticking from the date of service. See attachment.
(Because Terry is a Southerner, he is more genteel in his messages; not “forward” like some of us from other parts of the country.)

Thank you fsgl and terry…made it to work…It is very rare that a patient here in India visits clinic and donot pay as we only take cash payments/Debit/Credit card payments at our clinic.
Sometimes, the patient (very rarely) keeps payments overdue, in that case, it will help as we will be able to print out statement and send them via mail/ email…with everything pre printed on it.
Thank you for this contribution, it will be handy…for sure…

It was our pleasure, Arnab.
Thanks, El Jefe, for inserting the commit into the Demo. Great help for those of us who are GitHub-averse.

Concur with your Granny.
Perhaps even she had to take her gloves off, once in a blue moon, to bop 'em over the head; so they’d mind her.
