No default tab after login on OpenEMR 7.0.2 (upgrade from 7.0.2)

After login no tab is shown and I have to click Finder to have the patient finder show. Also the setting “Main Top Pane Screen” in Admin>Config>Appearance is missing.

OpenEMR 7.0.2

I’m using: Firefox 119

Operating System
I’m using: Windows 11 64-bit


This has been moved to Admin->Forms->Lists->Default Open Tabs

So now not stuck with only 2 tab default opens.

However, the upgrade is supposed to carry over, so not sure what is happening there. What openemr version are you upgrading from and what were your default tabs opened to prior to the upgrade?

I have restored the functionality by going to Admin->Forms->Lists->Default Open Tabs.

I upgraded from OpenEMR 7.0.1 (latest patch) which was a fresh installation. My default table were Patient Finder and Patient Seach/Add with the Calendar tab disabled.

looks like the query in the upgrade script doesn’t allow for an empty string in the subquery for gl_value for default_second_tab

also doesn’t appear that the user_settings for default tabs are respected on the upgrade but still have to test that some more

I also see this on upgrade from 7.0.1 Patch 1 > 7.0.2.

Likewise fixed by setting some tabs to Active in Admin > Forms > Lists > Default Open Tabs.
