XML Form Generator - free Text

merlinsilk wrote on Monday, November 24, 2014:

Wonder if there is an expert in XML Form Generator among us. I am looking for a more elegant solution of getting free text into one of my generated forms.
What I figured out so far is to generate the form with the fields that I need and then edit the generated files - like new.php - and add my free form text there.
But that’s an ugly hack as I would have to do this again if I need to re-generate the form.
Is there a better way?
Thanks!

Thanks, fsgl - I tried the LBVs and I would love to use them but I need to have my forms grouped in different tabs in an encounter, but all the LBVs go into one tab called Layout Based Forms (or something like that). We had a discussion somewhere on how to remedy that but none of that worked out for me. I also noticed that these forms don’t play so well style-wise with the forms in the other tabs in the encounter, that’s why I had to sadly abandon them :frowning:

Peter, could you elaborate - that was too terse for me :-))

Pieter had a suggestion in another thread that you may find helpful.

For the non-LBV forms, changing the Category will give a new tab, see attachments.

When another forum members uncovers the solution for adding Categories to LBV forms, we’ll let you know
