I am trying to setup electronic billing with Missouri Medicaid. Is the X12 files we create a 837-X12 file?

I am not 100% sure as X12 has many different ways to be called.
You may be already doing that, but at hipaadesk.com you can open a free account to validate your x12 files against the most current definitions.
My guess is if it works there then your clearing house must be taking it too.

OpenEMR X12 are supposed to be based on the 837p specification, but there may be gaps where parts of it were not necessary for getting someone’s claims paid.  And in practice there are some differences in what the various clearinghouses and payers will accept.

The bottom line is, you or someone you hire to help you will probably need to work with the payer to make sure their requirements are satisfied.
