What's the fee multiplier for?

First of all, I would like to thank the OpenEMR team for such a great product. I just set up my sister’s practice in FL, running OpenEMR and the system is running great.

I have a few questions about the "fee multiplier" in the /openemr/contrib/util/load_doc_fees.plx file. What is it for and how/when is it used?

Any help on this will be extremely appreciated.

It’s just a way to set up a reasonable starting fee schedule for your practice.  The multiplier is applied to the Medicare reimbursement amounts for the various services.  A value between 1 and 2 seems to be common.
