If assuming stewardship of patient data of a closed practice, is OpenEMR a viable option? Only need to retrieve, report, or export patient record as needed. No billing, no changes, etc. May include some ancillary data such as .pdfs, and DICOM images as well.
Interesting, I would have expected someone to have an opinion here. Some Google results say this is possible but I’d like better insight.
I too am interested in this. Specifically old data from Practice Fusion. If you are a consultant who is interested in this kind of project, please contact me. Thanks.
Its definitely an option. I’ve heard of people importing CCDAs from practice fusion into OpenEMR. If the version you are using is certified to g(9) you should be able to get an dump of the data that one of the Professional Support Vendors can work with you to import directly in if CCDA isn’t a viable option.
You can look on HealthIT’s CHPL website to see if they are certified as well as get a copy of the instructions for parsing / understanding the data.
My data is not from Practice Fusion, but I would want the guidance of a professional vendor to speed up the process. Any recommendations from their list?
