Sorry if this is a repeat; I want to upgrade from 2.9.0 to the lastest stable version. I plan on a fresh install but I’ll need to import the old SQL database. I assume data fields have changed in the newer version and therefore this probably is not a straight forward import.
Instead of doing a complete reinstall, you should be able to extract the new release archive over your existing version and then run the database update script. I haven’t tried 2.9 -> 3.2 upgrade, but it is supposed to work.
I believe there are some issues with the 3.2 -> HEAD transition having to do with some log tables not being available early enough in the upgrade process, but since you are stopping at 3.2 that won’t be a problem for you.
Reason for new install is new hardware and change in OS (from PCLOS to Ubuntu); thanks for the info. may be I’ll start with ubuntu and copy over the old oemr then upgrade.
hey,
Upgrading above3.0 requires a little more customization because the access controls and the billing/accounting module were integrated at this version. Three questions need to know:
1) Is php-gacl installed?
2) Is sql-ledger installed?
3) Do you have a user named ‘admin’ with administration privileges?

I have installed the VMware appliance 4.1.0, and found that sql-ledger.conf if there. Does this mean the entire ERP is installed? I am looking for an accounting system. I live in Norway, and see Sql-Ledger supports both the norwegian language, and has the standard norwegian accounting plan. So I wonder if I am good to go, or is it only partially installed ?(iow is all the sql-ledger required software installed on the virtuall appliance?)
Reason for asking is that I need to be able in OpenEMR to bill services and products with different tax %. All in one invoice. I also need to be able to change the layout if needed. (search for my post “simple billing”).
