When I was looking for a good EMR package that we could customize for our local clients, the one application that always kept popping up in our face was OpenEMR.
I love it and am happy that it does most of what we need to get done.
Now here is the problem that I am facing.
I am finding it hard to beleive that OpenEMR is not being used by Dentists or Optometrists anywhere in the World. If you or someone you know, knows different please educate me on how they are entering Patient Diagnosis Data.
Can someone help shed light on this dilemma. Will we have to move away frmo OpenEMR
We just began implementation of OpenEMR in an ophthalmologist office, not far enough into the process to say 100% if it meets their needs or not, but it’s looking fairly promising. Be prepared to build a lot of custom forms, via PDF, LBF , whatever route you prefer, & no 2 doctors will agree on what they want the forms to look like.
Could you share some guidelines/advice in regard to creating forms via PDF? I believe this is a common task during customization and the community could benefit with some kind of documentation. Thanks.
Yes could you please share how you got started making these forms. that seems to be the million dollar question. Not scared of rolling up the sleeves and tackling the bull head on, but need some pointers.
Something like CUSTOM FORMS FOR IDIOTS would be absolutley brilliant.
Is it possible for you to share just one form with us with quidelines on how we can achieve that.
Those are the instructions. It takes a skilled techinal person unless you use the LBF based forms.
There is the Snellen Eye exam form in the contribs directory for a start, you can copy it into the interface/forms dir and use it now. Not much but it’s something.
You might considering hiring one of the many fine programmers on this list to write that code for you.
