I have been unable to update the portal date format from YYYY-MM-DD to the American standard MM-DD-YYYY. I just updated to 7.0.1 and for whatever reason I am still seeing the YYYY-MM-DD format and not the MM-DD-YYYY.
Over all, OpenEMR is incredible! We plan on making a contribution for all the hard work that has been accomplished over the years.

Actually that option was set correctly. The issue is with the portal registration Date format.

There are places in portal that donāt follow locale.

IN Admin ā Config ā Locale - When you change the date format to anything but YYYY-MM-DD, the patient portal will get āErrorā when you try to schedule an appointment.

However, that was my banner, letting everyone know that Iām wanting to help by pointing out that I have found an issue and the resolution is temporary.

Ok, I take as a shout for attention by admin. Still the issue is when using European date format dd/mm/yyyy and was easy fix so thanks for posting issue.
Iām not even going to go down the change duration rabbit hole. Maybe another dev wants to take that on but beware of so many opinions concerning calendar.
Once I get PR up will post if you want to add fix to your install.
