Searching for accounting software

I am searching for an accounting software.  With OpenEMR we can manage basic billing, but looking for little enhanced features like - enter patient payment manually, other income, expenses etc.

Any recommendations for medical billing?

Sorry, I mean to ask - Any recommendations for medical accounting?

I don’t know what OS you are using - but we have been using Ubuntu for a couple of years. After a few false starts, I have found that GnuCash works very well for us; I’m much happier with it than I was with QuickBooks.

Thanks doktoro.  Do you have any recommendations for web based accounting?  The reason is - my accountant and CPA works remotely.

Tsvas,

We can take the GnuCash and make it a web based application for accounting. Let me know if you would like to move forward with making it accessable to your people via the web.

Wikipedia has an article comparing accounting software:

SQL-Ledger is browser-based and quite good, and actually used to be (poorly) integrated wtih OpenEMR.  There are also a couple of forks of it, LedgerSMB and Ledger123.  I don’t know any specific to medicine.

Hi
Also take a look at these.
http://www.ledgersmb.org/
and there are a few scripts in the contrib directory (which may still work)  with OpenEMR for SQL-Ledger.  http://www.sql-ledger.com/

Thanks

I like GnuCash as an alternative to QuickBooks. How difficult is integration of this software into OpenEMR as once was done with SQL-Ledger?

Tnx for any answer, -imm

I am also searching for accounting software, to be used with OpenEMR. My choice would be an opensource product written in PHP MySQL, to use the same programmer/developer for both systems.
I see Red Cherries and Webzash . Can anyone suggest a good product?

not PHP but gnucash/HACKING at maint · Gnucash/gnucash · GitHub
