Scaling issue on SOAP note when generating pdf report

Cross posted from Support- was wondering if maybe I’m in the wrong place

Situation

When generating a patient report in pdf format that includes the standard SOAP note that OpenEMR comes with (starting at pt dashboard –> report –> selecting desired info –> download pdf), if the SOAP note is over a certain length (seems to be about 4 pages total, or if the plan is over a page?) then the text shrinks to barely readable to fit the entire note in 2 pages. Older shorter notes in the same report are not affected. This makes it impossible to quickly print legible notes for pts and very difficult to fax/share records requested by other physicians.

This has been an issue for several versions.

Been on OpenEMR since 2020 and very appreciative of this community

Did you search the forum for similar questions? Yes. I found:

Hello, Can someone tell me which file to modify to change global font size setting for printed reports? OpenEMR version 7.0.2 Thank you, Kanoberson Asher

I tried the modification presented there to override w/ text 1rem with no change. I also tried the pdf font setting in the EMR- no change. I also changed “font-size” from 9 to 14 also in the custom report php- this made all of the other parts of the report bigger, but did not change the SOAP pdfs in question.

Clearly there is some issue w/ how those larger pdfs are being incorporated into the report. What can I do?

Did you check the logs? n/a
Was there anything pertinent in them?
Please paste them here (surround with three backticks (```) for readability.
You can also turn on User Debugging under Administration->Globals->Logging User Debugging Options=>All

Hi Amy,

I’ll see if I can take a poke at this, this weekend. Pretty sure I know why because if I remember right, I added some auto scaling a few years ago but don’t know if it is still there. I’ll let you know.
