Is this feature in prescriptions still supposed to be working?
I find no results whatever I type.
I am using V 4.2

Just checked the 4.2.0 Demo & it’s defunct.
Probably related to a2 of MU2, which has not been certified nor in official codebase.

Ok. Thanks for your reply fsgl.
I guess we will have to use the inventory module for the moment- and assist contribute to the MU2
One other thing, it would be very useful when providers manually type their prescription, in the prescriptions window, it is added to the list of prescriptions so he does not have to do it again, i.e, OpenEMR “remembers” the prescription. As it is, one has to enter the drugs and dosages in inventory module.

It was my pleasure.
If the physician e-prescribes, it would not be necessary to set up the Dispensary module.
For any given patient, it is not likely that he will have more than 20 meds in the Medications box. (God help him, if he does.)
I did not find the online search to be particularly helpful because I e-prescribe & there is only a very finite set of Eye meds.
Due the sharp rise in the cost of pharmaceuticals recently, I need to look up in the Allscripts website to be certain that the gtts will not cost the patient a zillion bucks.
The practice can put a one-liner in Prescriptions, then copy & paste for the next refill, if they e-prescribe. See attachments.
If they don’t e-prescribe & need to print the rx, then they will have to do the extra work.

Thank you fsgl for your post.
Well, I think we will not be using e-prescribing and we will also need to print. So, I guess we have to do the extra work! I will also check out CAMOS to see if it can help make work easier.
Preparing for my first installation.
Thanks.

Highly recommend e-Prescribe especially now that the Allscripts Integration script has been fixed.
Deluxe Allscripts (not free) will transfer demographics (patient name, dob, zip code, gender automatically.
Very easy setup, easy navigation in website.
Much faster even if one is a speed writer (or illegible scribbler).
Warnings about allergic reactions or drug interactions.
I only have Free Allscripts, but it’s still faster than handwritten scripts.
Saves on tamper-resistant rx pads.

I am not in the US.
I am in Kenya. Looks like that is presenting some challenges with using AllScripts!
fsgl wrote on Thursday, April 23, 2015:
Oh well, hopefully it’s not cold & snowing there.
OpenEMR is still excellent with or without e-prescribe.
mukoya wrote on Thursday, April 23, 2015:
Haha, Not so cold and never snowing! I can take that in the place of Allscripts

Hi,
This is likely considered a bug if it worked in prior version.
