i just wanted to know if some one is running a particular version of openemr and have to switch to a higher version then the we have to go step by step or can upgrade direcly from suppose version 4.0.0 to 4.1.2?

You can use 4.1.2 files and you need to update database from 4.0.0 to 4.1.1 and 4.1.1 to 4.1.2
