Is it possible to add the referring provider to New Encounter Form?
As patients are referred to the practice or hospital by different providers each time. This will allow each encounter to record who was the referring provider & thus make the referral report a bit more accurate.
Patient gets referred by other providers about an issue/problem. Each issue has a referring provider so you can address multiple issues based on multiple referrals without creating a mess.
@mdsupport is there an existing way to record that & report on it?
A few suggestions/questions
1 & 3 - excellent ideas. Go for it.
2 - If pt gets referred for vision problem and physician also identifies unrelated cardiac problem, at least we would be confused if the referral was for vision or cardiac or both.
In any case, you probably have a specific requirement in mind for documenting and reporting that is different from current design. In such cases, you make design changes and if you feel appropriate, submit them for getting incorporated in standard code so others benefit from it.
