Recommendations for EMR in remote single clinic without internet access

Hello everyone,

I’m new to Open source EMR. I’ve worked with Epic and cerner before so I gave some idea. I’m working with a small team in a remote village in Central Asia. There’s seasonal electricity but no internet. During my last visit, I noticed patients bringing their records in the form of papers or photographs. Most of them can’t read what’s on those papers and end up accumulating all kinds of papers including receipts. I’m going back this fall and want to take a computer with some sort of EMR that the local nurses can be trained on. Purpose of EMR would be to gather all previous lab works, images, prior doctor visits, medications, medical and surgical hx and to be able to record vital signs etc. a simple system that can be used by future visiting doctors to help get a quick hx on the patients there.

Thank you in anticipation,

Kam

Hello Kam

You can download and install OpenEMR in local computer and configure it.
And you can use the local installed version of OpenEMR without internet.

You can create patients and record all their details in the system.

Internet is required - only to upgrade OpenEMR if new patches or versions releases and for the system to communicate outside like any integrations , emails, etc…

Thank You
