Physicians are still permitted to report 9 PQRS measures with Medicare claims, but the huge problem is the requirement for electronic reporting of Clinical Quality Measures for 2014 CEHRT.

This renders MU2 attestation impossible for 2015 without the certification. It appears that trajectory would be to permit only e-reporting of PQRS/CQM in the future & probably piling on the number of measures to be electronically reported.

This .pdf will give a sense of the complexity of the task. What had been a simple matter of adding CPT II codes to a Medicare claim has turned into an exercise guaranteed to try the patience of Job.

Once this formidable barrier has been overcome, then the PQRS/CQM data is uploaded to one of the CMS approved registries or directly to the PQRS Portal. There has been no discussion about the the upload method because e-reporting of CQM’s has yet to be accomplished.
