Patient Timer - Like All Scripts

Hi,

I have a request or wish to add. One of my doctors is sharing an office and the other practice has All Scripts. In all scripts their system tracks how much time it took to get the patient through the office and out the door. This is so that the office can see where the bottle necks are in the office work flow and make adjustments.

Here is the wish. If the status function can be extended to create a time report for a given day. Lets say the doc sees 15 patients for Monday. The patient is checked in and the status of the patient is changed throughout the visit. At the end of the day, the office manager can run a work flow report that gives an average time for the five stops that the patient has to make through the office.

It would be nice to have. What would it cost so sponsor such a feature?

Nice but,

Actually I think we could  generate this from Administrator->Other-> logs.  It contains both date and timestamps.    Since we have an @ (arrived)  that can be the starting point of the timer.  we would then need a " Patient Close Chart"  Status or function to indicate a " Stop".  This could be the end point on the timer.

But both of these events would need to be in the log.  I don’ t recall seeing it.

My two cents.

The newly enhanced logs database would be a wealth of information about the timing and use of the system across the board. Heavy data mining of this user/date/time and action stamped data could reveal a great deal about the overall operation of a practice.  As well a places to improve OpenEMR itself.

There is already a status called  “> Checked out” that fits that need, I think.

Thanks to everyon that has pitched in with suggestions so far. I will be migrating this client to version 4.0 so they will have access to the ore extensive log files.

Is there anyone that is willing to develop a basic script to pull stop and start times formt the log files as suggested?

Remember that you can go under Administration->Lists->Appointment Statuses and create your own markers for the patient’s status as they travel through - just need to get staff to use them consistently.
