Is there an existing way to add a “Default Facility” for a given patient?
I see many posts about things related to this sort of thing on the forums, but my use case is much simpler than what tends to come up in these posts.
My only goal is that after somehow setting “Default Facility” for a given patient, whenever that patient is selected in the “Schedule Appointment” popup in the calendar, the patient’s “Default Facility” will be automatically selected by default. I am looking to prevent accidentally scheduling patients for facilities they don’t go too, I have no need to restrict people’s access to things or the options they can select, just trying to auto-update the selected option of the Facility drop-down.
In OpenEMR patients do not have a default facility as you describe it, but it is not needed. The first step to schedule an appointment is to open the calendar of the facility it’s going to be booked in. That action prevents booking the appointment in the wrong facility. From that appointment dialog you can purposely change the facility if you want, but it cannot be done accidentally.
If your staff are creating appointments in the wrong facility you might want to review their procedures and re-train them on doing it right.
