OSCON July 22nd-26th OEMR has a booth! Portland, Oregon

Hey all, OEMR will be “personing” a booth at OSCON this year! We need volunteers. We’ll make spiffy shirts for every one that shows up as well as having some fun social activities and maybe a hack-a-thon too! All this TBD. It’s coming fast though, so we need to know who can make it, or if you can help is some other way.

We will need stuff to give away, typical of any convention. Thoughts?

Stickers ?
Mugs ?
CDs with the VM on them?
Junk food …

There are enough of us in Portland, Oregon that we can arrange crash space for those that don’t want to stay in hotel. This is BEERVANA and OpenSource Heaven!

Even if you can’t afford OSCON, the hallway conversations, open gatherings at local venues and the free exhibit hall are plenty to stimulate your interests.

Tony,

Will we need to buy tickets to be helpers?

No. Exhibit hall access is free to all. We may get better than that,
still working out the details

We would also gratefully accept sponsorship offers from the various OpenEMR
vendors, rebranders, contractors etc… to defray the costs of booth
goodies, throw parties etc … the more we get the more fun we can make
this!

We want to share ALL the glory that is the OpenEMR community

So far we have not heard from anyone regarding suggestions for “swag” or anyone that has the original high-res version of the OpenEMR logo, nor do we have an agreed on OEMR logo.

On the good side we have people locally that will man the Booth (Mi2 and Ensoftek staff).

Since this is “awareness” and volunteer recruiting oriented I would like to have a list of the top ten “hard” features/projects and list of the top 10 easy contributions to use a enticement and talking points.

Please cruise the wiki, forum and tracker for suggestions and send them my way.

If you represent a Vendor and want to donate some funds for us to use for Swag, printing, and some social activities We will post your logo prominently. If you are a user and want to donate that’s cool too, of course.

Go to www.oemr.org and use the Donate Button.
