i’m trying to configure openerm2.9.0 to work with phpgacl3.3.7. I have already been using openemer2.9.0 on freebsd 7 with apache2.2 and mysql 5.1
I can access phpgacl, I have created the users and all, but I am not able to login to openemr.
What could I have configured wrong? I made sure to keep user names and groups the same.
Please Help!
The reason I need phpgacl is because my front desk staff keeps accidentally deleting appt and “in office” and “out of office” events for doctors. This has become a problem. I would like to restrict their privileges only to add appt and no more (that is I don’t even want them to delete appt at all once they are made. thanks
Please comments on steps if you are able to limit the use of "in Office" etc…
I would like also to install phpgacl too and limit front desk from destroying the calendar.
Comments:
-backup, backup, backup first
-installling phpgacl is a good idea, gives you better control over what privileges you allow your users
-read it through thoroughly a couple of times
-plan time on a weekend so you are not rushed and there is no or little activity
-be sure you understand the commands well because you need to translate them for your own operating system
-do a search of the forums and see where others have gotten stuck when installing phpgacl, I remember spending months on the mysql user issue ( see this thread: http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=2181049&forum_id=202505 )
-read the readme file that comes with phpgacl, it is important
-keep a log of all your steps as you take each step, this way if you need help you will be able to tell what you have done
-Doing a test installation first would be nice
-avoid making changes to openemr while you are working on phpgacl, I remeber messing up my openemr and thinking it was a phpgacl issue, then it was solved with a fresh install of openemr. I must have corrupted a file in openemr along the way
thanks alot you for this kind response.
I am wondering about the setup of phpgacl that prevents users e.g front-desktop users from clicking specific links e.g In-Office or else.
Were you able to accomplish this?
What is the best easy php script to do this so only admin is authorized ?
Thanks again.
Omar.
