Does anyone know if OpenEMR can be used for cardiology practice?
If so where can I get the templates that are specific to Cardiology

I’m not an expert, but if you go into the Administration/Services and check out the list of codes, you should see the codes that you use. These codes (ICD, CPT, HCPCS) can also be viewed online. The balance will be using the general format already in OpenEMR, though the Administration/List allows changes and defaults. Forms can be customized as well - they have an how-to on that as well. You can go onto the online demo to try it all without having to install at your end. Hope that helps you.

hi,
The demographics and history can be configured through the admin->layouts if needed. To customize/create/re-use forms, thee are the following mechanisms(http://www.openmedsoftware.org/wiki/OpenEMR_Form_Creation_Tools):
1) Create them within OpenEMR (this is a cool new feature in OpenEMR 3.2): http://www.openmedsoftware.org/wiki/LBV_Forms
2) Create with Formscript tool: http://www.openmedsoftware.org/wiki/OpenEMR_Form_Creation_Tool
3) Copy and customize one from the openemr/contrib/forms folder into the openemr/interface/forms folder
4) Also have an experimental xml form generator that Justin is working on: http://www.openmedsoftware.org/wiki/OpenEMR_Xml_Form_Generator

Hi, I am working with a cardiologist that is looking for a point and click system that wants the form to complete their sentence. If he clicks the check box and builds a printable document with the correct notes to help the physician make a decision. Has anyone built such a workable forms. It does it in all scripts pro in his last practice does this but it did not flow.
Also, is there a way to send the notes to another doctor?
This is wish list.
Thanks for any input from the forum.

Any one using Open EMR in cardiology office - I want to know how you are creating office notes, ultrasound reports, stress test reports and saving them for future review. I also want to know how to sign these notes and finalize them. Thank you in advance.

Hi,
I am working with a cardiologist that needed all these things done and we have sucessfully accomplished most of these items you are asking about. We have created a point and click system to create an entire office note and E-Sign it. I am working on getting the code submitted so that it can be in the next version or issued as a patch. I will do a video for it and release it on this thread. Contact me from my site below.
