OpenEMR documentaion guide

Hi , please i need you help!!! where can i get all openemr documentation in order to understand how the sytems works. It will be easier for me to make the config, exemple Simply “how to start a visit”, “create the forms” …

Thank you.

Hello again @Jessica
Yes indeed, the OpenEMR project does have a documentation wiki, and the latest user guide is located here:
https://www.open-emr.org/wiki/index.php/OpenEMR_7.0.0_Users_Guide

And now, the caveats.

  • Remember that contributions to the OpenEMR project are all from volunteer workers. This implies that the organization of the wiki is not a matter of formal agreement and it means that documents can be difficult to locate. The best way to find things is to go to the bottom of any wiki page and enter a search term into the ‘Navigation Menu’ text area, e.g.,

then look through the returns.

  • Another thing to remember is that if a feature (for example, the calendar) has not been upgraded since it was added to the EMR, the documentation will be from the original EMR version that it was written for. So, to look for configuring the calendar you’d look in the 4.2 documentation. But a function’s interface rarely changes so much that the older documentation cannot be re-visualized for the newer EMR versions.

  • That being said, let me give you some links to get you started.

… and keep on reading through the wiki, precious gems may be discovered in unexpected places!

But always, come back here and post any questions you may have.
