OpenEMR and Availity

rdhingra wrote on Monday, May 24, 2010:

I have registered with Availity for Eclaims.
Instead of doing a manual batch upload of the X12 files, I would like to have it automatic.
Once I generate the X12 from Billing module in OpenEMR, I would like that it login to the SFTP server and upload the files. Same with receiving files. I am told that I need to do some specific setup on the OpenEMR side to have the list of insurance companies as well as have EDI set up.
Can anyone help me figure out what changes I need to make.

Thank you very much

I too would also like to know how to set this up.

I use InfinEDI clearinghouse in Oklahoma, USA and InfinEDI provided a fast, password-protected program I use to grab the X12 file from a designated X12-folder on my desktop. Previously, I used Lytec Medical (without the EDI module) and Lytec required a third party program to grab and send the X12 file from a folder to the clearinghouse. That would be a lot to expect for OpenEMR to connect direct to the clearinghouse.

All,

We are creating a connection between OpenEMR and a clearinghouse. If you are interested please contact me me off-line.

I use Availity with OpenEMR.  You can request an sFTP account with them.   I have cron job scripts that upload EDI X12 files when they are complete and monitor and download the response files as they arrive.

I also have scripts that parse the response files and email the results as well as posting them to an OpenEMR ‘Errors’ table that can be viewed and acted on from the billing process tool.  This is for 3.2 at this point.  I am going to port it to 4.0 soon.

most of the code for this is on my website at http://www.mi-squared.com/openemr-tools/

Hi,
I am newbie in this site.
The Electronic Medical Record will have all the health documentation for each of your patient thus lessening any paperwork done in your office.
Thanks.
