Open EMR customization & ONC Certification

Hello,

Our clinic is planning to switch to OpenEMR but there are some features that we would like to customize, for example use our custom style sheets , hide certain features such as “$Fees”. Also want to integrate patient eligibility check using third party API. etc.

My question is, with all these changes does the ONC certification will be valid? or there is any restriction that we have to consider before doing any customization.

Finally, but not least our customization will be donated back to community.

Just to play devil’s advocate, you could make a case that any customization outside of the configurable options that are included in OpenEMR 5.0.0 would require re-certification.
