FYI: All portal users
Be advised that the portal will be under going major changes in the next few weeks.
So for all you folks that have implemented custom code in portal I’d highly recommend submitting a PR and let us review if your changes benefit the community on the whole. If so, I’ll be more than happy to work with you to make it happen and added benefit that helps you avoid custom code refactor hassle every update and patch.
For all others that have taken my portal module and customized it as a for fee service, I’m really not sure how I feel about this but lean towards okay with it to a point.
In these cases though I think it would only be fair to make some sort of ongoing financial contributions to foundation/project for a percentage of fees recouped in module use. Any money donated helps with maintaining the core module for PHP version changes, updates and more. I know I’d appreciate it and I believe it helps strengthen our community.
