I would like to say that what I have seen so far from this software is quite impressive for a freebie. I am looking to start an office fresh on the digital side and one of the packages I am looking at implementing is OpenEMR. I am also looking at becoming a possible contributor and developer towards the proliferation of OpenEMR. I am currently investigating the software and since I am also a semi-experienced programmer, I can also look at the code guts. I am a newbie in PHP but I just look at it as another programming language. Well I hope I can become an integral part of this movement and hope to get a dry run going in my garage soon. I will be in touch and lets hope it goes well.
Welcome! It’s truly wonderful to see doctors interested in working with the OpenEMR code base. This is the kind of involvement that Free Software thrives on.
Yes, PHP is easy to learn if you already have experience with a language like C, Java or Perl. It also has a rich set of features to make your work easy and productive.
Hi Gabriel,
Welcome!
If you look under contrib/forms you’ll find couple of forms that were developed for a pediatric office and cover the most common pediatric visits.
They are called ped_fever, ped_GI, and ped_pain,
you just need to move those folders to interface/forms/ and install them from the administration menu under OpenEMR
Andres
I moved the forms as you said; but did not know how to open them and include in patients encounters. How I get the forms to show up as choices to enter?
If you go to Administration and then Forms in OpenEMR, you should see them listed. For each desired form click register, then install db, then disabled to enable.
