Needing assistance with error / EMR crash

I am a medical professional and not IT savvy, so please bear with me. When recently running an internet security program full system check, OpenEMR froze and the computer restarted itself twice. The following error message now appears when I try to start up OpenEMR.

ERROR: insert failed: insert into log (date, event, user, groupname, comments, patient_id, success, checksum,crt_user) values ( '2017-07-28 15:08:37', 'security-administration-select', '','','U+S1auFQhc0jF8+JKaK7ko773lAsQCD+9QpELAuqBmc=','0','1','','')

C:\xampp\htdocs\openemr\interface\login\login.php at 72:sqlStatement(select distinct name from groups)

I am unable to login and cannot access any of the patient records.

I live in a remote place and have no IT support here. Is anyone able to interpret the error or advise me how best to proceed?
Thanks.

If you have a recent backup and weren’t too concerned about maybe losing a few records from the log you could try this https://stackoverflow.com/questions/37892757/truncate-a-specific-table-from-a-mysql-database-using-command-line

Hello toketa,

It would be better if we get the following details to find the root cause of the problem :
1.The security program which you used to scan your system ?
2.What is the version of OpenEMR and MySQL ?
3.Did you have MySQL database back up ?

Thanks,
ViSolve

Thankyou for your responses.

Unfortunately it really is a mess and I cannot answer your latter
questions. I feel I have to explain my situation. I have a solo Dr clinic
in a remote part of a developing country. I was away from my clinic for
over a year and had a series of locum doctors covering my position. The
first doctor to replace me there became fed up with my previous clunky word
processing patient record system and installed OpenEMR. He has since told
me he has no record of which version he installed or details of the backup,
however it was downloaded and installed in about June/July 2016. Apparently
he was backing up within OpenEMR and I think this was done until about 4
months ago. From some instructions left by previous Drs I gather they were
selecting backup within the “Admin” drop down menu on the main screen. I
recently returned here and at that stage OpenEMR was working. I tried this
above backup process however when I did so it stated that the backup
location no longer existed. At the same time I also found my computer’s
internet security program had expired hence I installed a new, paid version
of McAfee Livesafe (new for that computer). A few minutes into a full
system check up, OpenEMR crashed. Subsequently no viruses/faults etc were
found.

I am prepared to lose the records and move on if need be but if there is
any hope of retrieving the data I would be very appreciative of your
suggestions.
Thanks,
Toketa

like @visolveemr 's response @toketa so the problem doesn’t rear it’s head again after you take immediate action
