Need help to configure multiple site login page

Hi all,
I’m new to this forum and today is my first time posting a question to this forum. So far, I’m very happy with what i have seen on openemr especially the interface and how easy it’s to work with the application. Even though I’m new to this application but was able to installed and configured a single node for a local clinic. Now, my goal is setup a multiple sites (3) or more clinics under one host. I was able to do that by following through your documentation. Since I’m new to this application I feel shy to ask some basic/rookie questions that if I research further, I will find an answer but don’t know how to approach it.

  1. How do I configure the general login screen for all the clinics to use? For example, my multiple site url is “www.pwobcanada.org/multisite” that opens the default login page and would like for a user to login with either a clinic’s name or facility id and password. I don’t know how to proceed with this and would need some help to achieve this.
  2. I saw this setting when I watched ZHService video on this link “http://open-emr.org/wiki/index.php/OpenEMR_4.1.2_Users_Guide”
  3. Can this be achieved and if yes, could you please point me to the documentation so I can use it? Please help me to achieve this goal.

There is one already. https://YOUR-URL/openemr/admin.php

If you want something more stylish you can modify that one

Tony,
Does the url requires https configuration? i tried that with my url https://www.pwobcanada.org/multisite/admn.php but got a certificate issue “There’s a problem with this website’s security certificate” Is there any extra configuration needed after installing and adding other facilities to the main server?

Thanks,
George

No, but there is no good reason you should ever install a production openEMR without using a secure HTTPS connection.

Tom,
I understand that but this is my test environment and i’m just seeking help to see if i can accomplish this goal by setting up multiple sites under one server and have a login page that would allow facility user to enter their facility login id rather than the regular default page login page. Can you help please?

Thanks,
George

Hi George,

Welcome to the Fora.

Have a look here.

Hi fsgl,

Thanks for welcoming me to this great forum and I love it. I used the link you provided to implement the multi-site and was successful. I was thinking the login page was going to be different from the default login page. Meaning, it would allow users to add facility id or clinic name before redirect to the right clinic. Please correct me if I’m wrong on this. I asked Tom last night if there’s any extra configuration and he said no. Please help as I am very much interested in this application to help a local clinic in a third (3rd) world country.

Thanks,
George

Hello George

You just need to put the site name created in the URL like mentioned below. In the link given below, the site name is ‘default’:
http://demo.open-emr.org:2101/openemr/interface/login/login_frame.php?site=default.

Based on this login url, user to that particular site/clinic can be logged in.
Or if you want the facility to mention the site name in the login page, along with the username and password, that can also be done by customizing the OpenEMR’s login page.

It was our pleasure.

You will find that the Wiki webpages to be a bit more current than Sam Hameed’s (ZH) videos embedded in the Wiki. I’ve not checked YouTube if this is the case as well.

The community here is very supportive. If we don’t have an answer, we usually come up with a workaround.

OpenEMR is ideal for a clinic in a developing country.

If your organization is thinking about supplying the hardware as well, try Raspberry Pi.

Just read your user page.

While previously reading about the American Colonization Society, learned about Sierra Leone & the background for the name of its capitol as well.

I like that and thanks for your time on this topic. Currently, i am working on this project in my test environment and will be posting/asking a lot of questions.

Thanks,
George
