BRAVO ZULU Brady.

MU2 Update:
The Technical Review was completed at Infogard today and 12 of the items were flagged as having issues, which is extremely disappointing to say the least. We are still committed to getting MU2 certified, but will not make the 9/30/16 deadline.

For those interested, I updated the Barometer(flagged items are in black):
http://www.open-emr.org/wiki/index.php/OpenEMR_Certification_Stage_II_Meaningful_Use#Completion_Barometer

And also placed the issues for each flagged item here(highlighted in black):
http://www.open-emr.org/wiki/index.php/OpenEMR_Certification_Stage_II_Meaningful_Use#Certification_Criteria

We are currently coming up with a game plan to expedite completion of the flagged items. Shooting for completion in 2 weeks. Will keep providing updates as have more information.

Just curious, when is the next deadline? Couldn’t easily find it via Google.

hi Matthew, chatted with Brady on the now bi-weekly conference call, and it’ll most likely be January 1st. Hopefully get this squared away with InfoGard in October which will give providers and their staff time to prepare for “meaningfully using” OpenEMR in 2017. Here’s the best page from CMS, https://www.cms.gov/Regulations-and-Guidance/Legislation/EHRIncentivePrograms/

@Stephen: Thanks for the information. January 1st doesn’t sound too bad!

@Brady: What can I do to help?

Hi Matthew,

Thanks for the offer. I’ll let you know when we have a solid game plan in place.

Working on 5.0.0 release stuff (such as registration) is probably the most helpful at this point:

micro-update:

The following items have been tested with infogard and have passed (thank you Visolve!!):
a3 - Demographics
a5 - Problem list
a12 - Image results
a14 - Patient list creation
d2 - Auditable events and tamper-resistance
d3 - Audit report(s)
d8 - Integrity

The following item(which is a usability report) has been submitted to infogard and awaiting reply from infogard(I am optimistic that this will pass):
g3 - Safety-enhanced design

The following items are currently being worked on by ZH Healthcare. No official timeline, but guessing will take 2 weeks to get them passed:
b2 - Transitions of care
b7 - Data portability
e1 - View, download, and transmit to 3rd party
e2 - Clinical summaries

So the summary is that there are 4 items left to pass testing. Can see the barometer here:

Thanks goes to both ZH Healthcare and Visolve for going above and beyond in effort:

Infogard is going to submit the MU2 application for “Certification Body Review” on Monday, 12/12/2016. And they’ll get back to me with an estimated timeline of the review process in the near future.

MU2 Update:

The “Certication Body Review” application was submitted to ONC on 12/14/2016, and we just got a reply today that 5 items have issues that need to be addressed. Although it’s not good news, it’s definitely not bad news since there are really just 2 central issues to address(ie. we are really close and there are no showstoppers):

  1. Several fixes need to be done in the ccda reports.
  2. A server time fix.

I don’t have a estimated time to completion yet, but guessing just several weeks. Will know more in a couple days. Will also keep placing updates on the barometer:

Thanks for the update Brady, keep up the good work. US practices need to use CEHRT for at least a 90 day period in 2017 to participate in the quality payment program.

bradymiller wrote on Saturday, January 28, 2017:

MU2 Update:

Regarding the 5 items discussed above.

Visolve passed 1 of them today(the server time fix). Thank you Visolve!

The other 4(all are related ccda doc fixes) are actively being worked on by ZH Healthcare. I don’t have an ETA yet on this yet, but guessing not too much longer. Thank you ZH Healthcare for remaining persistent for the OpenEMR community!

Updated barometer is here:

MU2 Update:

ZH Healthcare is scheduled to test the remaining items next Tuesday (2/7/17). If it goes well, then the complete MU2 application will get resubmitted to the ONC testing body(and should hopefully then hear good news within several weeks  ).

All items were passed as of yesterday morning. Some paperwork items were fixed overnight and the MU2 application should get resubmitted to the ONC Certification Body Review today. I’ll update here when I have a estimated timeline on how long the review will take before we get the cert(assuming everything goes well, of course).
