Can anyone tell me, we currently use Office Ally but this looks great, does anyone use it for mental health are there some special tweeks we can do to it? We have a clinic with over 7 Phychologists, Therapits and Interns. Also for billing do we have to use a clearing house like Office Ally and if so will this program let us autmaticaly submit secondary insurance claims or is that something we have to manually enter? Thanks!

Hello, Justin. We use it in our Neuropsychology practice. There are some tweaks we did to customize it to a mental health practice. One of the great things about Open-EMR, is how customizable it is. While you can use it with Office Ally, we have not. We still use Emdeon/Change Healthcare as our clearinghouse. If you have further questions, let me know.

We’re a psychiatric practice with 2 providers and a 4 person support staff.
We use Availity as our clearinghouse to keep it simple. Our customizations
were fairly easy to accomplish with some assistance from the forums. We
have implemented the following features that perform without intervention;
automatic SMS text appointment reminders, automatic compressed and
encrypted cloud backups, backup battery power (UPS) monitoring with e-mail
reporting. In addition we have custom patient invoices and forms. One of
the best features of OpenEMR is the helpful and friendly assistance of this
community.

I want to know if we can customize this program to write session notes as this is very dirrerent from alot of the notes that I can see here. Also do you know does the program automatically created a secondary billing with the primary deductions or is tht something you have to go in manually find the deduction codes and resubmit the secondaries?
