Out in the field there is something like ATC and DDD for medication. Many more different coding available, but WHO seems to concentrate for Pharmacy and Medicine prescriber into this Coding system.
As far as I have followed discussions it seems to be avilable as a free available classification.
For ATC: What medication is used for what illness
AND
DDD: defined Daily Dose to know how much of a medication you have to use in 24 hours duration.
These codings are not perfect, but give a good indication and should only be disregarded with special concern.
Having a coding system like this in spreadsheet format could this, without major modifications, be implemented into CAMOS?
I am thinking of using an Alphabetic list in second column of the code so you can find the medication back if you know the name and another coding system where the use of Organized codes for treatment indication gets to the same medication, but though a different column in CAMOS)
Pls let me know if this should get some more attention. I know
This could be implemented in CAMOS with no programming knowledge needed. You can delete or edit the existing column/content data easily from within the form. There is now an import/export feature to allow you to share the structure/data you have created. Your export could be uploaded to the cvs contrib directory.
thanks for this advise it will definitely help to implement the bigger project for end import. Sorry to say, but in my virtual CAMOS OpenEMR option (My Mind version|) I created a main choice, than a sub choice and another sub choice that gave some kind of result. These were all created in an alphabetic kind of solution with a code and text as result.
Than I created also a mind excercise a table with diseases and sub diseases and another sub, like the one you included as an example. I got struck where the result of the first and second would give the same result and were taken from the same imported MySQL table.
So to be clear how can two options in the first column be filled with the information of only one table as the end result?
It seems so easy to accomplish, but it was not in my dummy manual ;…-)
