Medicare change from SSN's to IDN's

Had a question to come up with the switch that is coming in April for those in the US. Medicare is doing away with SSN on the member’s cards and generating new ID numbers for members.

What impact will this have on billing in the billing suite?

The ERA’s are supposed to have both numbers. Has anyone looked into auto-updating the system with the new number?

hi @juggernautsei, it’d be pretty neat to auto update the HICN to the Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) when the ERA processes

currently hicn updates comes along in a NM1*74*1***R***C*HICN segment

so thinking it will be possible
