LIS integration with openEmr

I am sure this has been looked at before, we have a in house Lab with LIS (SchuyLab). We are trying to set up a system where providers can send orders directly to the LIS and retrieve results to the patients chart.

Has this been done before or is anyone working on it?

Do we have to install MIRTH server for this to be possible?

that helps with ordering and faxing/sending the order to the lab.

is there a way for the test results to be sent to pts charts?
