I am new here. I am the founder of Dofody, a telemedicine platform based in India.
I am trying to make Dofody secure so decided to use OpenEMR for managing medical records and prescriptions.
For the last 2 months, me and my team have been scanning through this forum and we found it really helpful.
One of the problems we faced was to find accurate information from the vast ocean like posts and topics in this community. It was at some times, like searching for the needle in the haystack!
So, I thought, why not use AI to do the work for me? I sometimes pick the link from the topic page and ask chat GPT to summarise the discussion form.
I think if we can develop a chatbot using Botpress or any other open-source software to make OpenEMR community better, that would be great!
If anybody wants to go ahead with this project, send me a DM. I can sponsor with the Chat GPT API for the first 3 months.
What do you guys think?
This sounds like a good idea. But can your team make it a reality? I do understand the mountain of information that is buried in this and other forums for OpenEMR. Some of the information is outdated. A chatbot could be of use to those first-timers who come to the forum. Post regular updates!
Yes, I agree. But, training the chatbot with the latest Wiki documentation and sorting it based on Open EMR version number can be done.
As you rightly mentioned, it would be immensely helpful for beginners.
It would be immensely helpful to have a comprehensive collection of the most recent versions of all of OpenEMR’s features.
But in my opinion, the project does need to be designed to be fully funded /staffed in perpetuity.
Maybe I’m missing something but @Prasoon it sounds like you’re saying that you can only finance the AI for 3 months. What happens after that? Do you anticipate that OpenEMR users will be so impressed with its capabilities that they will subscribe to support it?
Best- Harley
Even if I extend the funding to one year, I need the communities and advise on what happens after that?
I suggested GPT because it is one of the most widely used and most popular model out there. There are other open source models like LAMA3 from Meta.
Regarding the staff, I don’t have any employees who are train with artificial intelligence.
If the community wants to do it, there is no problem in finding out a way to do it. That’s what I think.
