I’m considering attending the HL7 - January 2015 Working Group Meeting - Connectathon and thought working to connect up an OpenEMR system with others at the meeting could be a great way to learn FHIR as well as make a good start on a FHIR module.

This is a project we are doing for more than one customer. It is a full FHIR HL7.org compliant interface. It is a standalone server that maps FHIR resources to OpenEMR database elements, bi-directionally.
It is a work in progress and we implemented about 5 of the first patient demograpics related resources so far.
The OpenEMR On FHIR project has been officially moved to the mi-squared github account. Anyone wishing to contribute to this effort is welcome to join us there. Ken Chapple is the lead on this.
