Introduction and Installation Thread

Hi @Paulywog0667
It sounds like you’re getting a good start on your project, that’s great.

Ya gotta watch out for the YT vids. I haven’t reviewed all of them but I do know some of them are made on proprietary forks of OpenEMR and show features not available in the Comunity Ed.

Re: OpenELIS, I’m not familiar with it but you may be duplicating work since OpenEMR’s procedures module is designed to handle all aspects of ordering lab procedures, from importing an order compendium to sending off the orders to entering the results. And it’s possible you might set up something with OpenELIS that conflicts with OpenEMR’s procedures.

You might find this post useful:

When you’re ready for it, a rep from the lab you have the lab account with should be able to help with obtaining the compendium you’ll be using.

Another OpenEMR tool that many behavioral science practices use are the questionnaires. You can build your own or download pre-written ones. See the top level intro:

and a forum search on all things questionnaire:
https://community.open-emr.org/search?q=questionnaire

And in the wiki, see:

Not to overwhelm you with stuff you’re not ready to use yet, but when you are, it’s out there.
