Installing openEMR on a shared hosting server and stuck at Step -3

Situation
I have installed openEMR on a shared hosting site with our own domain name. I have setup a mySQL database which has the form name_openemr and the user is also name_openemr. I leave the host as localhost, leave the port as 3306, for root login, I use the site’s login and password. I am stumped on the “root” issue - I have access to my own website and everything in it but obviously not to the root of the whole server.

If I say I have already created the database and give the name of the database and username/password, it says “Connecting to MySQL Server… ERROR. Check your login credentials. unable to connect to database as user: ‘geohil56_emr’
You will need to remove the database, correct the problem, and then restart the setup.php script.”

If I tell it to create the database, it says it cannot have access to “root”

OpenEMR Version
I’m using OpenEMR version
7.0.3
Browser:
I’m using: Tried Firefox and Chrome

Operating System
I’m using Win10 but the openEMR is on a linux machine in shared hosting.

You can also turn on User Debugging under Administration->Globals->Logging User Debugging Options=>All

I didn’t get that far in installation to have any log files.

@CosmicOne So basically, what you need to do is:

  1. Create a MySQL database – if you’re using cPanel, there’s a MySQL Database Wizard** to make it easy.
  2. From the wizard, you can name the dPreformatted textatabase and user anything you like.
  3. Once you generate the password, make sure to assign all privileges to the user.
  4. After that, replace root** with your newly created username** and password in your configuration file.
