Installation Only Showed MYSQL as OK - nothing more

Hello,

I am new here. My issue:

  • Step 3 only showed mysql is ok. The rest of the page is empty and installation does not continue. Can you please tell me why?

Open-EMR is a great script for clinics. My boss is trying to open her own clinic (Psychiatric) and she wants to use this for her website and local server.

Please help.

Thank you so much.

Hello @Red_Hood welcome back to the OpenEMR forum and community.

It would be helpful to know more about your situation and re: your installation:
https://www.open-emr.org/wiki/index.php/OpenEMR_Installation_Guides

Which installation method/ package are you using? What OS?
Are you sure you have the right versions of all the dependencies installed?
Have you been following the steps in the installation guide for your package?
Have you searched this forum for others’ solution to the same problem?

As far as using OpenEMR for psychiatry, we at MI-Squared have supported many psych practices and would love to discuss the professional support we offer.

However this forum is a wonderful place to find free/ no-cost help in others’ posts who have done the same thing as you have in mind:

Hi Harley,

Thank you for your prompt response.

That’s awesome that this EMR works with all psychiatric clinic. Open-EMR will work for her then. She’s also hoping to include a virtual consultation feature with her patients. I think that’s her goal: conduct 75% virtual consultation, registration, appointments, and payments online. It’s easier for her and the patients.

We are using two OS: the website is a shared hosting using linux. For the clinic, there’s a local server and we will be using both linux (Fedora or Centos) and Windows 11. pro

We downloaded the latest Open-EMR version 7.0.2. My friend and I tried reintslalling it in the hosting server but the installation process just stops at step 3. It showed only a mysql is ok message; nothing more. We are using a test installation for now so we can see how it works.

So, we need technical help on this to continue the installation.
Thank you so much for any support.

Hi @Red_Hood
I myself am a User- type customer service guy in my work for MI-Squared, not a systems/ dev- type so I have limited expertise on troubleshooting OpenEMR installations- afraid I can’t help you much with that. You could always hire us to consult on this issue and provide your IT support, but I suspect you’ll get enough free /volunteer advice here on the forum to answer your ‘step 3’ installation questions.

However, I can address your other remarks.

  • OpenEMR does have a wikimedia repository of user tutorials that has most of what a new user needs to know. Here’s the link to the wiki itself:
OpenEMR 7.0.2 Users Guide - OpenEMR Project Wiki

  • here’s an (extensively detailed) forum post on how to make the best use of it:
    HOWTO: use the OpenEMR wiki

  • Psychiatric offices tend to want a lot of customized forms and OpenEMR has a couple tools with which you can produce your own without knowing OpenEMR’s programming code. Search the wiki for ‘NationNotes’ and ‘LBF’ or ‘LBV’ forms.

  • OpenEMR also supports questionnaires so you can administer the many standardized data gathering tools that exist:
OpenEMR Questionnaire - Introduction - OpenEMR Project Wiki

  • The portal is extremely useful way to interact with the pt without them needing to come in to the practice all the time:
The OpenEMR 6.0+ Patient Portal - OpenEMR Project Wiki

  • But also OEMR does telehealth; would be most efficient to search the wiki for ‘telehealth’, too.

Like I say, if you want to hire a support vendor feel free to DM me. Otherwise come on back to the forum with specific questions on how things work.

Hi Harley,

Thanks for the great input.

I am just a hired IT and my friend for this special new project. Outside this project, that should be the doctor’s discretion.

I think we found out the issue though. In the shared hosting, we can’t change the max_input time and others as we are not allowed to. But for the local window server we saw that it was okay to apply the php changes. As we are still in the testing mode, we are doing applying a of changes. it may take some time…

We noticed that there’s going to be a new version coming out too. I may discuss this with the clinician if she wants to wait.

Yeah, sure. I can always DM you for anything beyond this installation issues.

Thanks.
