Importing backed up database

Hi,

How do I import my backed up openemr set up and database into a new installation of openemr?

I backed up openemr using its own backup facility. This produced a file called “emr_backup.tar”. How do I use this file?

Many thanks.

hey,

Depends on your operating system. What OS are you using? Also what OpenEMR version are you using(any patches?)?

Linux Mint 7 Main Edition
OpenEMR 3.1.0
No patches

hey,

In linux, there is a restore script (openemr/openemr/contrib). I recommend not using the file included in 3.1.0 (it has been updated and most recent version is inlcuded in most recent patch). This script can also be downloaded directly from here (click ‘save as’):

run it from commandline

Hi Brady,
Thanks. I’ve installed the latest patch and downloaded the script. How do I run it from commandline? It’s very long (surely I don’t have to type all that in a terminal)… and interspersed with notes which are obviously not part of the script (which part do I have to use)?
Sorry about the no doubt dumb questions - I’m new to linux.
Many thanks.

Ignore the above - I figured it out. Script worked fine. Thanks.
