I am using OpenEMR v7.0.3, and I need help with the encounter form’s default provider selection.
Problem
When I log in as a provider (example: Dr. D) and create a new encounter, the Provider dropdown does not default to the logged-in provider.
Instead, it defaults to another provider (Dr. V) every time.
What I Expect
When a provider is logged in and creates a new encounter, the Provider field should automatically default to that logged-in provider.
What I Already Checked
Under Administration → Config → Encounter Form, I see options like:

Show Referring Provider option

Show Ordering Provider option

Show Encounter Type
-
Show Facility option
-
etc.
But I do not see any setting that controls default provider behavior for the encounter form.
My Question
Where in OpenEMR do we configure the “default provider” for new encounters so that it automatically selects the logged-in provider?
Is there a global, ACL, or user-specific setting that determines this?
If not configurable, which file or function handles this provider pre-selection logic?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
