How do I import Insurance company details into openEMR? what kind of format do I have to have my data in? what are the steps to import Insurance company data? please help. Thank you.

Generally speaking, in the US a medical practice of the size that OpenEMR is built to serve will deal with few enough insurance companies that manually entering their information is quite manageable. In other words, there is no need for a data import routine for that task to be built into the EMR.
However, here is a link to the wiki documentation on the data that is necessary to have a complete system configuration for submitting insurance claims. In the section toward the end, ‘Insurance Companies’ the data needed for each insurance company is detailed.
