How to customize the registration page

Hello the community, i am new. Please i need your help on how to customize the registration page.

Thank you.

Hello @Jessica - welcome to the OpenEMR community! May all your questions be answered in a useful fashion

And so saying, I gotta ask: which display do you mean when you say the ā€˜registration page’? (Screenshots come in really handy here)

The patient record’s primary information display is the Dashboard, and the Demographics section contains most of the patient information that is collected. However, the portal has a set of actual ā€˜Patient self-registration’ screens, and there’s another screen which is designed for the initial population of the patient record.

They can all be modified and customized to varying degrees, involving different levels of difficulty. Also, what sort of customizations do you have in mind?

Looking forward to reading more from you.

@htuck i would like to make the registration page simple, remove some attributes such as ā€œSexual Orientationā€, ā€œLicense IDā€ā€¦

Also remove some section ā€œemployerā€, ā€œSatsā€

Thank you

From now

Hi Jessica. You can configure what shows up on these registration pages, i.e. the demographics, by using the menu admin/forms/layouts. Then chose core/demographics.

this brings up an editing screen where one can add or delete fields. tick the box to the left of the field you’d like to delete, then at the top of the screen click the ā€˜delete’ button

scroll down the page to find the different sections

all the best,ruth

Thank you @ruth for your help, i manage to remove some attributes unfortunately i cannot remove ā€œbilling Noteā€, ā€œPrevious Nameā€ also the section ā€œinsuranceā€ i don’t see in ā€œThe demographic Sectionā€ to remove it.

oh that’s interesting, and well done for removing some fields.

what happens if you try to delete ā€˜billing note’ and ā€˜previous name’? - i think one can also move items to a different section, so you might be able to hide them out of the way.

it might be worth asking specifically about modifying the insurance page in the forum, or Harley may be able to help, he’s pretty knowledgeable

all the best

i’ve just found how to hide the insurance form all together - in the menu go to admin/config - then scroll down the left hand side to insurance. on that page tick ā€˜simplified demographics’, then ā€˜save’ (at the foot of the page), that seemed to get rid of it for the new patient set of forms

Thank you, it works for the insurance unfortunately i cannot remove a lot of attributes. Please do we have an OpenEMR documentation which can help.

i’ll look - but meanwhile can you tell me what happens when you try to remove an attribute that won’t go, maybe plus a screen shot.

also, are there any single attributes that you can remove

hi jessica,
i also experienced not being able to delete a field, and couldn’t see why that failed. I was able to move fields to other sections though. I also failed to find any user documentation on the subject. I’m sorry i’ve not been able to be of more help. I’m afraid i have some other things to do, and will be away for about 10 days from wednesday, so won’t be able to do any more hunting around for a bit.

there are certain fields in demographics layout that cannot be removed or deleted.
for those fields it’s best to simply hide them

ā€˜Hide them’ being to mark them in the UOR dropdown as being ā€˜Unused’, like so:

And I would not have advised actually deleting all those items, but rather marking them ā€˜Unused’, because now they are gone for good. You cannot use any of the fields that were in any of those tabs, and if you decide you want to you will have to re-install OpenEMR again from scratch.

Thanks for clarifying my super lazy answer Harley!

you can run an sql statement to update the table and restore the deleted fields which circumvents having to re-install

Ah, that’s good to know, thanks for correcting my misinformation!

@htuck Thank you , it works. yes normally i could only hide them maybe later on i can use them .

@htuck please any idea on how to hide stats, employer, choices…I do not need them now

Thank you

Hi Jessica,

there is a ā€˜delete’ button for each of

these groups, have you tried to use that? - i don’t really want to test it out on my system as i don’t want to delete the groups and then have to re-instate them

That’s why i asked if it is possible to hide them instead of ā€œdeleteā€

oh, i see. the best i could see was to move the group down to the bottom of the list, where it might be out of the way a little?
