HL7 and OpenEMR

Hi,

It is not absolutly about Open Emr but about the global solution HL7-Open EMR. I would like you to give me your point of view: Do you think HL7 is the good format for transferring data in continuous as urinary flow in reanimation room could be? I cannot find a clear answer on internet. I think HL7 is to communicate to an interface such as Open EMR in order to store ponctual information as an electrocardiogram or a picture or global information but not information which have to be transferring for an unknown period.

Hello

It is definitely possible to use HL7 to transfer contiuous flow of data from OpenEMR to any other system (to which you need to integrate) and vice versa. You should write scripts in Mirth to send /receive data in HL7 format from/to OpenEMR continuously.
Make sure the server where Mirth is configured, should be up and running continuously.
