Looking to rebrand open emr for dermatology specialist
hi adolfo,
welcome to the openemr community - a very supportive bunch of people!
i’m not sure what you are asking exactly - but the following might help - which will enable logos etc on the login page?
you will find logos for the login page in the folder openemr/public/images, and these can be invoked via the admin/config menu - go to the ‘branding’ tab and the ‘Login Page’ tab
although having seen your next post i realise that you are looking for much more than this!
Hi! Welcome to OpenEMR. Since OpenEMR is open-source it can be customized to fit the workflow of your requirements. If I am understanding you correctly, you would like the ability to customize OpenEMR for a dermatology clinic. Can you be more specific for your needs?
Out-of-the-box, you can use the form builder to create your own forms. Sometimes people want more than the form builder offers, in that case you would need to hire a developer.
Can you list your requirements? Thanks!
Hello Ruth,
Thank you so much for your response and warm welcome. Looking forward to doing special thing with this community. I have a 25 year history in healthcare and wellness managing physician practices, outpatient ambulatory surgical centers, and small hospitals.
I operate a small management service organization (MSO) where I support physician / medical professionals by managing all things non-clinical (e.g. Tech Infrastructure, EHR, Phones, Computers, Billing & Collections, Legal, Operations, Finance/Accounting, Commercialization, Talent, etc).
I am looking to purchase a group of dermatology practices and convert them onto open EMR. At the same time, I’d like to develop an EHR product that is custom built for a Dermatologist.
Ideally, the tool would be integrated into for example a word press website to manage new, established, and referral patients. Additionally, I would like the consults to be recorded by a microphone digitally transcribed for MD approval in effort to reduce data entry. Integrate software packages into Open EMR like 20 as a CRM and Akaunting for billing and supply chain management. Connecting patient database with CRM for management, marketing, and patient relations. Connecting Akaunting with open EMR would send invoices at end of visit via SMS and email. In addition, akaunting could be used to develop reorder point and create alerts on low supply levels.
Hello Daniel,
Thank you for the warm welcome. I appreciate you taking the time to inquire more about my project. Erex is an opensource hubspot software solution that might be interesting to integrate as well.
Hi @acarras2000
I want to suggest to you that whatever you decide on the customizations you require to embrace our module system and use dispatched events from openemr core.
This way you’ll never be far behind production release code and having to carry customized core code forward on future releases.
Modules is one of our more widely accepted paths for branded and customize product.
Good luck.
That’s great insight! Thank you Jerry! Modules make sense…
What legal jurisdiction do you operate in? If your USA based, wordpress isn’t ideal for your HIPAA risk assessment as it is a challenge to comply with the privacy/logging requirements. I’m sure people have made it work but might require some heavy customization if you go this route. Likely the same challenge if you are in Europe.
