Diagnosis and resolution of Apache problems are far beyond my capabilities.

Because Kevin and Brady are not posting presently, I thought I might offer my two cents.

If Apache cannot be restarted from XAMPP Control, no work can be done. If you had planned to upgrade to 4.1.2(1) anyway, would you consider the upgrade now? A fresh install of the XAMPP 1.8.2-OpenEMR 4.1.2 package may correct the Apache problem, whatever the etiology.

Of course, the 4.1.1 Default folder and the 4.1.1 database will have to be migrated into the new package and then the database will have to be upgraded to 4.1.2.

Hey,
This problem may occur because of skype installation in the system. Skype and apache service always conflict. Make sure your skype is not started before starting xampp.
