Hi all,
i’m running open emr 3.2. just upgraded from 3.0.1
ive just noticed that i’m failing to save patient insurance data. and i’m not getting any error message.
is there a way of switching off some of the requirements like state, zip code etc because that info is not relevant to namibia where i’m practicing.
all help appreciated

Hi,

If you want to eliminate details like state, zip code, etc from demographics panel, you can do it in Administration->Layouts->Demographics.
If you want to eliminate those details from insurance section, it can be done by changing the code.

Hope this helps.

thanks
i need to change those details on the insurance section….how do i change the “code”? which code?
i assume the reason i’m now failing to enter the data i have is because all the values were set to required not optional.
on the layouts i can seem to be able to find anywhere i can turn that off!

Hi,

Following are the two files related with insurance:

1. interface/new/new_comprehensive.php
2. interface/patient_file/summary/demographics_full.php

By doing simple code customization(commenting the lines) you can achieve what you expect.

Thanks
