Duplicate patients from self registration at portal

Hello,
Because I am starting a new practice, I am having the patients enter their data into the portal. However, I have noticed that they end up creating duplicate users, and therefore, I end up with duplicate patients.

I am aware that I could just disable the option for patients to self-register at the patient portal, however, I would like to respectfully request a “double-check” mechanism such that this does not happen. Similar to that which is used when we create a patient in the back end.
