With the patient merge function in the 4.2 release I was wondering if anyone had written a report that would show possible duplicate patients.

Since version 4.0 it became almost impossible to have duplicate patients. The system checks and rechecks before a patient can be entered. So staff have a warning up front not to duplicate this entry. Such a report is not need if the staff is heeding the warning system.
Thinking about how would you find a duplicate patient because everything would have to be exactly the same in the demographics to pop as a duplicate. I know in other systems I have encountered in the past, it was possible to have the same patient in the system with all the same info 3 and 4 times.
However, in my opinion a loyal user of OEMR wouldn’t be able to use or need such a report.

I found it here contrib/util/dupecheck/index.php. I know that in a sanitized enviroment duplicates are nill.

It is easily possible to have duplicate patients…like during migration or similar situations. Dupe check and patient merge are indeed useful.
